Job summary

Halma plc is seeking a Lead Production Engineer to own the technical direction of manufacturing activities, leading engineers and ensuring solutions align with business objectives. You will design, improve and support processes to deliver safe, efficient, on‑time production to cost and quality targets.

You will coach and mentor engineers, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain and Design Engineering to enable scalable manufacturing across products and lines.

Qualifications

• Extensive manufacturing engineering experience in high‑volume environments.
• Proven track record in continuous improvement and data‑driven methods.
• Experience with ERP and digital manufacturing systems.
• Strong automation, tooling and equipment knowledge.
• Project and technical leadership with coaching abilities.
• Clear, structured communication and decision‑making under ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of manufacturing engineering activities.
• Lead engineers and align engineering solutions with business goals.
• Design, improve and support manufacturing processes to meet cost and quality targets.
• Specify, commission and maintain production equipment and fixtures.
• Support NPI, transfers and capacity expansions with DFM/DFA input.
• Develop work instructions, process flows and control plans.
• Provide day‑to‑day engineering support to production and investigate issues.
• Drive Lean, waste reduction and cycle time improvements.
• Coach and mentor engineers and review technical solutions.
