Job Description:

Position: Software Test Engineer (Permanent)

Primary Purpose: Responsible for the design, development, verification, validation, and support of software and communication technology for test solutions.

Main Duties:

• Design and automate test solutions and control systems.
• Ensure quality and lead junior engineers.
• Develop robust system requirements and detailed technical items.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineers.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Manage software configuration and changes.
• Develop and maintain test software and procedures.
• Uphold design standards and methodologies.
• Report progress and support end users.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
• Lead small/medium test engineering programs.
• Participate in project reviews and risk management.
• Guide test development processes and tools.
• Coordinate with external customers and suppliers.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Expertise in NI LabView and industrial test hardware.
• Experience with software configuration management.
• Understanding of test architectures and communication protocols.
• Proficiency in test development tools like NI TestStand, C, C++, C#.
• Strong troubleshooting and system integration skills.
• Knowledge of test hardware electronics and mechanical design.

Highly Desirable:

• Electronics engineering background.
• Experience with other languages and platforms like HP VEE, Linux, RTOS.
• Understanding of avionics communication buses.
• Experience in process improvement and environmental testing.
• Security clearance (SC).
