Job description

Raytheon UK is looking for a Senior Product Test Development Engineer to based at either Harlow, Glenrothes or Livingston on a permanent basis. This role is a full-time basis working 37-hours per week, you will spend your week working onsite for either a 4-day week compressed hours or 5-day week with an early finish Friday!

What You Will Do

You will be responsible for the design, manufacture, verification, validation, and lifecycle support of test equipment at board, sub-system, and system level. You’ll work on technologies that support Control Actuation Systems, Guidance Electronics, and cutting-edge GPS Anti-Jamming systems across land, sea, air—and space.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop functional test equipment for electronic systems
  • Lead and support hardware/software integration and troubleshooting
  • Provide lifecycle and production support, including issue resolution and obsolescence management
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop robust, scalable test solutions
  • Lead design reviews and documentation to the highest standards
  • Act as a mentor and technical leader for junior engineers

Required Experience

  • Excellent knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuit design.
  • Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation.
  • Proven experience in handover and management of designs in production.
  • Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to support/debug system integration
  • Must be eligible for BPSS clearance

Desirable

  • Significant test development experience in industry.
  • Test software design experience.
  • Use of Mentor Graphics schematic entry and PCB layout tools.
  • Understanding of common test architectures PXI/d LXI
  • Measurement Uncertainty and its application in test equipment design and validation
  • Software Certification or detailed knowledge of: NI LabView, NI CVI, NI TestStand, C#
  • Design of mix signal circuits
  • High speed serial networks
  • An appreciation of RF electronics
  • Knowledge of power supply design
