Job description

Our Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Owner to join our team on a 9-12 month maternity cover contract, where you will play a critical role in shaping & delivery of the future of our digital customer experience. It is a broad role requiring customer focus, commercial acumen, strategic thinking, a high level of technical understanding & a passion for both retail & digital innovation.

You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of new customer experiences that align with The White Company’s digital vision. Leading a cross-functional squad, you will develop value-driven solutions that support business goals while delighting our customers. You'll own the product vision, manage prioritised backlogs, align stakeholders around strategic goals, and continuously seek ways to optimise the digital journey for maximum impact.

Collaboration is key. You will work closely with teams across the business to understand challenges and opportunities, and partner with IT to scope and deliver change. Agile ways of working are integral to our evolution, and your experience in agile delivery will help us continue to refine and improve our approach.

If you're passionate about retail, have a proven track record of leading high-performing product teams, and excel at translating complex problems into digital solutions, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing
  • Responsible for the scoping, analysis, and delivery of digital roadmap initiatives with a channel or area of the customer journey
  • Partnering with UX and data insight teams to develop a deep understanding of customer behaviour and needs
  • Defining and prioritising initiatives based on customer insights, commercial value, and technical feasibility—supported by clear business cases
  • Collaborating with IT to identify the best-fit technical solutions to meet both customer and business needs
  • Working across departments—including Trading, Marketing, Merchandising, Creative, Retail, Contact Centre, Finance, and Logistics—to ensure alignment and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Communicating progress, risks, and opportunities to key stakeholders and business leaders
  • Understanding cross-functional impacts and ensuring smooth transitions of projects into BAU
The skills and experience you’ll need
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner in an ecommerce environment—ideally within retail and agile settings
  • A strong commercial mindset and the ability to confidently prioritise based on business value
  • A data-driven, customer-obsessed, and solutions-oriented approach
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset with the ability to lead full product/project lifecycles
  • Solid technical understanding—enough to collaborate effectively with developers and assess implementation impact
  • A proactive, collaborative attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with SAP Hybris and Adobe Analytics is highly desirable
