Job summary

System C in Leeds is seeking three Senior Product Owners to lead complex product ownership activities across strategic areas, helping delivery teams create valuable, high-quality solutions for customers while supporting the growth of Product Ownership capability across the organisation.

You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Design and operations stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes, coach and mentor Product Owners, and establish governance and best practices across the

• Significant Product Owner experience in complex software or technology environments.
• Advanced backlog management and agile delivery expertise.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience leading complex delivery initiatives or multi-squad programmes.
• Experience coaching, mentoring or managing Product Owners or other product professionals.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage complex product backlogs aligned to portfolio goals and roadmap priorities.
• Translate strategic outcomes into clear, actionable requirements for delivery teams.
• Lead backlog refinement, planning and prioritisation activities.
• Coordinate delivery across multiple teams, products or releases.
• Identify and manage dependencies, risks and delivery challenges.
• Champion high standards in user stories, acceptance criteria and backlog quality.
• Use data, insight and AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve delivery effectiveness and decision-making.
• Provide coaching, mentoring and line management support to Product Owners within your portfolio.
• Help establish consistent Product Ownership practices, governance and ways of working.
