JOB TITLE: Senior Product Owner

SALARY: The salary banding for this role is £76,194 - £89,640

LOCATION: Bristol

HOURS: 35 hours, full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

About this opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team as a senior Product Owner right at the pivotal time during our Platform transformation. Our mission is to lead and develop the personalisation strategy driving forward the transformation to provide self-serving capabilities, tech, and infrastructure for how we can engage with customers. Personalised Experiences and Communications (PEC) platform sits within the Consumer Relationships BU and plays a substantial role in supporting the achievement of the Group Personalisation strategy to be more relevant for customers.

This role will lead product ownership and business-aligned data roles in the Analytics, BI and AI enablement team. The team is accountable for building the products that enable BI and Analytics teams to self-serve at the front-end using the group’s strategic capabilities, as well as providing the right foundations and group-aligned capabilities and tooling for data science and AI.

What will I be doing?

  • Strong knowledge of data and data products, and significant experience working with data through building BI, Analytics and AI solutions

  • Experience in advanced analytics, and a desire to play a product role in our data science and AI evolution, challenging existing thinking and ways of doing things

  • Product Delivery – Using varied experience to plan & manage the budget and resources. Optimising the delivery of great products that continuously build value for our customers.

  • Obsession over customer outcomes (internal and external) – promoting customer centricity across the team & peers to ensure our work & deliverables are aligned to our customer needs.

  • Excellent people and communication skills, including the ability to influence and effectively communicate with a wide variety of technical and non-technical colleagues.

  • Experience leading teams and coaching and mentoring colleagues inside and outside the lab.

What you’ll need

  • Passionate about both data and technology with interest and skills for solving problems through data. Whilst not necessary, we’d love to hear if you have had any experience working with our Group Data Warehouse (GDW).

  • Experience in development of Team goals and achievements and provision of product performance and benefits realisation data.

  • Providing input into overall Product vision and Product roadmap. - Product Ownership – Takes ownership of product backlog. Accountability for prioritisation, refinement & management of team product backlog.

  • Creation of customer centric user-stories at team level that direct the team to the right product outcome.

  • Experience using collaboration platforms such as Atlassian Jira & Confluence.

  • Experience working using agile principles
