About Us:

Digital and Innovation in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories, where creative and enterprising people put local residents and businesses first. Creativity isn't only for senior managers; we expect it from everyone, including our newest recruits.

Today, Westminster is the most connected borough in London. Our initiatives, like the £2.8 million European funding project, have significantly improved connectivity for small businesses, enabling remote work and video communication, which proved vital during the pandemic. Westminster now leads in connectivity, supporting thriving businesses and innovative services like the Smart City strategy.

The Role:

As a Senior Product Manager in our Digital and Innovation team, you will contribute to groundbreaking AI initiatives that improve residents' and officers' lives. Working in our AI Innovation Hub, you'll lead projects such as Generative-AI chatbots, speech-to-text tools, and NLP/ML solutions for process improvement and fraud detection. You will identify AI opportunities, develop innovative products, and secure stakeholder buy-in, fostering an inclusive culture and educating senior stakeholders on user-centered design and AI impacts.

About You:

You are an experienced product manager with a background in leading multidisciplinary teams, familiar with agile and user-centered design principles. Your skills include scaling AI products, integrating AI into existing systems, and designing prototypes. You have experience evaluating AI opportunities, managing risks, and shaping AI strategy. Excellent communication skills and leadership experience are essential, along with a passion for using technology for public good. Personal resilience, organization, and teamwork are also key qualities.

Westminster City Council supports Care Leavers and encourages applications from underrepresented groups, especially from a Global Majority background, utilizing positive action provisions of the Equality Act 2010.

We promote flexible and agile working patterns, and are a Disability Confident Employer, guaranteeing interviews for disabled applicants meeting essential criteria.
