Job summary

Diesta Limited in London seeks a Senior Product Manager to professionalise and scale the product function. You will synthesize leadership, engineering, and design inputs into clear specifications, backlogs, and implementation-ready detail for engineering and design.

The role emphasizes specification, product structure, edge-case discovery, and internal orchestration, with growth toward broader product leadership. Hybrid London-based role with close collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Significant product management experience in a B2B software, fintech, insurtech, payments, banking, financial infrastructure, or similarly complex operational software environment.
• Proven ability to write clear, detailed product specifications that engineers and designers can implement with minimal back-and-forth.
• Strong ability to structure complex problems, break into scenarios, identify dependencies, and reason through consequences.
• Naturally oriented toward edge cases, failure modes, data mismatches, and operational edge cases.
• Ability to distinguish between essential customer needs and bespoke implementations; capable of proposing scalable alternatives.
• Comfort working with APIs, data flows, platform constraints, integrations, reporting, and permissions.

Responsibilities

• Own the creation of clear, structured, implementation-ready product specifications for new features and platform improvements.
• Identify and map edge cases, exception flows, data integrity risks, and reconciliation scenarios.
• Gather inputs from leadership, engineering, design, and customer-facing teams to shape requirements.
• Ensure functionality fits the broader platform direction and avoid bespoke feature fragmentation.
• Maintain and improve the internal product request process, backlog, and specification workflows.
• Provide engineering readiness by delivering unambiguous, actionable requirements.
• Collaborate with design to translate requirements into usable workflows and user journeys.
• Clarify client needs with customer-facing colleagues and support sign-off on feature scope.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate research, analysis, and backlog organisation.
• Map out user journeys and execution scenarios before development enters.”
• Maintain backlog quality and alignment with engineering capacity.
• Act as the connective tissue between product direction and execution.
• Understand how product choices affect implementation, customer success, and operations.
• Contribute to developing Diesta’s product function and documentation standards.
