Job description

Senior Product Manager
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager in our Core Services team.
The role will take ownership of our Financial Crime capabilities. You’ll work in close partnership with our Fraud, AML, Compliance, Technology and Product teams to build robust, scalable, and effective FinCrime solutions.
Who are we?
We’re Funding Circle. We back small businesses to succeed.
At Funding Circle, we believe the world needs small businesses. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to help them get the finance they need to grow.
With more than a decade of expertise under our belt, we’ve built a game-changer of a platform with cutting-edge data and technology that’s reshaping the landscape of SME lending. Say goodbye to lengthy applications and hello to lightning-fast decisions! In just minutes, SMEs across the UK can get a decision, giving them access to competitive funding in a flash.
We know that good business is about good people. So we pride ourselves on providing meaningful, human support as well as fast, hassle free processes to deliver an unbeatable customer experience.
The role
You will lead the charge in defining the strategy and roadmap for developing our financial crime capabilities, for the critical systems that protect our customers and our platform from fraud and money laundering. These capabilities underpin our entire product offering, including our business credit card, FlexiPay pay-by-instalment product, and business loans.
Own the vision and strategy for the development of Funding Circle’s FinCrime capabilities, defining the short, mid, and long-term roadmap in partnership with our Fraud and AML teams
Produce high-quality product requirements that enable your product teams to develop solutions that protect the business and our customers from financial crime, while enabling safe and scalable growth
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, becoming the go-to person in the FinCrime domain to enable fast, effective decision-making and execution
Connect the dots between regulatory changes, emerging criminal typologies, and our strategic objectives to drive effective risk management and positive business outcomes
Proactively problem solving, identifying and confidently mitigating any risks, issues or control weaknesses that arise in your day-to-day
What we’re looking for
6+ years of relevant experience in Product Management, working in a regulated financial services environment (e.g., fintech, banking, payments)
Experience in Financial Crime areas such as Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Screening, and Fraud Prevention.
Experience working with operational teams to improve and automate their workflows and tooling. Familiarity with Salesforce would be a bonus
Experience understanding opportunities through both quantitative (e.g. analysing alert data, operational metrics) and qualitative (e.g. user interviews with ops teams) methods and using these insights to develop impactful products
Worked in empowered Product & Engineering teams to support delivery of the strategy, product vision, OKRs and roadmaps to drive business performance, owning product development & delivery through its lifecycle
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders (including Operations, Compliance, Engineering etc) to maximise value, make tough trade-off decisions, and deliver results
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proven ability to dissect complex, legacy systems and processes to find opportunities for automation and improvement, and to build compelling business cases for your ideas
At Funding Circle we are committed to building diverse teams so please apply even if your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the requirements.
