Role Summary

We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to shape the products and services Cambridge Cognition provides to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies for use in clinical trials. This is a strategic, commercially minded role at the intersection of customer needs, science, technology, regulation and drug development.

You will identify important customer problems, assess market opportunities and translate insight into product strategy and investment decisions. This includes building rigorous commercial cases using market sizing, pricing and revenue assumptions, costs, ROI and sensitivity analysis, while understanding the scientific, regulatory and operational evidence required for adoption in clinical trials.

What you'll be doing:
Customer Discovery & Market Insight
  • Plan and conduct structured qualitative research with pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers, including clinical scientists, clinical operations, digital health and therapeutic-area stakeholders.
  • Synthesise customer interviews, commercial feedback, product data and market intelligence to identify unmet needs, adoption barriers and product opportunities.
  • Conduct market sizing, segmentation and competitor analysis, including competitor offerings, evidence, positioning and pricing.
  • Use win/loss, pipeline and customer insight to inform product priorities and identify emerging needs.
Commercial Strategy & Business Cases
  • Build commercial cases for product investments and new markets, combining customer evidence with TAM/SAM, expected adoption, pricing, revenue potential, development and operating costs, margin and strategic fit.
  • Develop ROI and financial models, including payback periods, scenario and sensitivity analysis, with clear assumptions around price, volume, adoption and cost.
  • Partner with Finance and Commercial teams to test assumptions, define measurable success criteria, and revisit investment cases as evidence develops.
  • Contribute to pricing, packaging and business-model decisions for products and services sold into pharmaceutical clinical development.
Product & Portfolio Strategy
  • Own and evolve product strategy and roadmaps for products and services used in clinical trials.
  • Prioritise opportunities based on customer need, market potential, strategic fit, scientific and technical feasibility, regulatory considerations and expected commercial return.
  • Translate customer and market insight into clear product requirements, value propositions and investment recommendations, working with Product Owners and Engineering on delivery priorities.
  • Take a portfolio view across products, therapeutic areas and use cases, deciding where to scale, differentiate, standardise or stop investment.
Clinical Trials & Evidence Strategy
  • Understand how products and measures fit into pharmaceutical clinical development, including trial phases, protocols, endpoints, study operations and sponsor workflows.
  • Work with Science, Regulatory and Quality to define the evidence required for adoption, including intended use/context of use, validation and operational feasibility.
  • Understand the challenges of introducing digital health technologies, eCOA, digital measures and biomarkers into clinical development programmes.
  • Ensure product decisions balance customer and commercial needs with measurement validity, patient meaningfulness and regulatory expectations.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving FDA, EMA and industry expectations relevant to digital health technologies, clinical outcome assessments and patient-focused drug development.
Commercialisation & Cross-functional Leadership
  • Develop clear, evidence-based value propositions, positioning and differentiation with Commercial, Marketing and Science teams.
  • Support product launches and go-to-market activity, ensuring customer-facing teams have the evidence, messaging, tools and training required.
  • Engage directly with strategic customers and prospects to support commercial discussions and uncover future opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional product initiatives, communicate product decisions and trade-offs clearly, and monitor success through adoption, commercial performance, customer feedback and relevant KPIs.
What we need from you:
Essential Requirements:
  • Significant product management, product strategy or closely related experience within life sciences, healthcare, clinical research or another highly regulated technology market.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting qualitative customer discovery and synthesising findings into clear opportunities and product priorities.
  • Strong market and commercial analysis skills, including market sizing, segmentation, competitor analysis and building business cases with ROI, revenue forecasts, cost assumptions and scenario/sensitivity analysis.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous customer and market problems into product strategy, requirements and evidence-based prioritisation decisions.
  • Experience working with scientific and technical teams on complex products where decisions require consideration of evidence, data and feasibility.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Comfort balancing customer needs, commercial value, scientific evidence, technology and regulatory constraints.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience in pharmaceutical drug development, clinical trials, CROs, or products and services supporting clinical research.
  • Understanding of the clinical development lifecycle, including protocols, endpoints, study operations and sponsor decision-making.
  • Experience developing or commercialising digital health technologies, eCOA, digital biomarkers, digital measures or other technology-enabled clinical-trial solutions.
  • Familiarity with clinical outcome assessments, context of use, fit-for-purpose evidence, meaningful change and patient meaningfulness.
  • Familiarity with FDA and/or EMA expectations relating to clinical trials, digital health technologies, clinical outcome assessments and patient-focused drug development.
  • Experience developing evidence strategies or taking complex scientific or technology products from discovery through validation and commercial adoption.

Even if you don't have all the experience we've listed we'd still love to hear from you if you're interested.
