Job description
Company Description

Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money.
Min fees. Max ease. Full speed.

Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.

As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money.
For everyone, everywhere.

More about our mission and what we offer.

Job Description

We move 5% of the world’s money. And using a debit or credit card to fund a transfer is one of the most popular payment methods used by our customers.

In this role you’ll be responsible for ensuring the billions that we process in annual card volumes is done so safely and sustainably. You’ll inherit the existing card pay-in strategy and be responsible for its evolution - optimising our existing volume while driving growth initiatives.

You’ll identify opportunities to improve payment performance, mitigate fraud and lower card costs. You’ll balance these opportunities against the regulatory, compliance and engineering needs of the domain. Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for the roadmap of changes needed to ensure card payments are processed first time for genuine customers, at the lowest price possible.

You’ll also lead growth initiatives for cards: supporting our regional teams to launch card pay-ins for new currencies. You’ll also spearhead efforts to support card payments across Wise’s Business products e.g. optimising card performance for our Payment Facilitator product, “Get Paid with Cards.”

You’ll be responsible for managing external relationships that are critical for success, spanning across our acquiring partners, card schemes and other key 3rd parties.

Qualifications
  • You have an understanding and relevant experience of working with the card payments sector with proven experience in improving acquiring card performance
  • You have at least 5+ years experience in a Senior Product Manager role, and is someone who has developed and implemented successful product strategies with measurable, successful outcomes
  • You’re highly analytical and are comfortable using data - both quantitative and qualitative - to identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives and refine the product strategy.
  • You can demonstrate how you’ve collaborated with engineers and analysts to successfully launch a new feature or product to market and/or can demonstrate how you’ve made significant improvements to an existing product
  • You’ve worked closely with back-end engineers and are comfortable making technical trade-offs to deliver faster for customers
  • You’re comfortable with ambiguity and not knowing all the answers, and can take complex situations and bring structure, focus, and direction.

Bonus:

  • You have experience managing 3rd party relationships
