The Team

Automotive sits within the company’s lending product organisation, working across the full journey from the decisioning and pricing engine through to customer and dealer experiences. It is a high-impact part of the business, with an ambition to more than double originations over the next four to five years.

You will work closely with Sales, Credit Risk, Technology and Operations to turn a complex set of commercial and customer challenges into a focused product roadmap. The role has real breadth: improving how we serve dealers and brokers, making decisioning smarter, and removing friction from the processes that matter most.

This is a senior individual-contributor role with the space to shape how Automotive grows. You will have strong senior partners and the opportunity to build influence across a business where the best ideas win through evidence, clarity and good judgement.

A day in the life

  • Work with Sales and Credit Risk on dealer strategy, rate cards, decisioning and the commercial choices behind sustainable growth.
  • Meet dealers, brokers and intermediaries to understand what gets in their way, then turn insight into product decisions.
  • Use data directly to investigate performance, test hypotheses and build simple commercial models.
  • Create clear business cases and committee papers that bring senior stakeholders behind a decision.
  • Partner with Technology to define, sequence and deliver change
  • Improve operational journeys, reducing avoidable cost, friction and complaints.
  • Spot market developments and translate them into practical opportunities for the company.
About you
  • You have owned commercial outcomes in a product, lending or regulated environment and can explain the levers behind them.
  • You are comfortable balancing volume, profit margin, cost, loss rates and customer outcomes when making decisions.
  • You can get close to raw data, conduct basic analysis and use evidence to frame a recommendation.
  • You have delivered technology change through a cross-functional team.
  • You prioritise confidently, including when capacity is shared and competing demands are legitimate.
  • You influence without relying on formal authority and are happy to do the work needed to move an idea forward.
  • You communicate crisply in writing, including business cases for senior audiences.
  • You have a track record of customer or partner discovery and converting insight into action.
  • You are comfortable working in a regulated industry and bringing Risk, Compliance or Legal into decisions early.
Added bonus:
  • Experience in B2B or B2B2C products.
  • Working knowledge of SQL or another programming language used to work with data.
  • Experience scaling a product or commercial proposition.
  • Motor finance knowledge, including dealer and broker distribution, vehicle valuations, HP or PCP mechanics.
  • Experience influencing risk-based pricing, rate cards or commission structures.
  • Third-party or vendor management experience.
  • Experience developing people or managing a junior colleague.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and self-serve BI tools.
