Senior Product Engineer - Reliance Protect

Role

This is a key role responsible for the technical performance of existing solutions, and ongoing management and delivery of the technology roadmap of the Reliance Protect and Reliance Technology Care Solutions businesses. This role will own the new product development process, ensuring the delivery of innovative products that meet customer needs and align with the company strategy. It is both a strategic and operational hands-on role working with internal resources and external organisations, with the opportunity to play a significant part in growing two exciting brands.

Responsibilities

• Responsibility for the technical performance and quality of our solutions (hardware, software, apps), working closely with the wider company Dev Team on internally developed software and apps.
• Ownership of the technology roadmap, aligning developments in technology and innovation with customer needs, market opportunities, and the strategic direction of both the Reliance Protect and Reliance Technology Care Solutions business units.
• Responsibility for assessing new products, solutions, and suppliers in line with the technology roadmap, including evaluating features, quality, security, certification, and commercial models, as well as the technical expertise and credibility of suppliers.
• Project management of key stakeholders, including suppliers and internal development and IT teams, to introduce and integrate new features and services that add value to our solutions.
• Thorough understanding of customer wants and needs, identifying differentiators, market opportunities, and USPs against competitor solutions.
• Management of new product development, firmware versions, and firmware control processes, including UAT processes, introduction into production through formal change control processes, liaising with all internal key stakeholders, and controlling communications to customers as required.
• Responsibility for creating technical specifications from business requirements.
• Responsibility for product certification, compliance with relevant standards, and associated technical documentation.

Profile

You will be educated to Degree level in a related field such as Engineering, with at least 3 years’ experience in a technical product engineer role, ideally in wireless communications. All job candidates will be screened to BS7858 to meet Reliance High-Tech's vetting standards.
