Job summary

Junior in London is seeking an experienced software engineer to own features end to end across frontend, backend and data layers. You’ll ship weekly and interact directly with paying customers to shape the product. You’re comfortable building polished React/Next.js interfaces and solving complex TypeScript problems live, with solid PostgreSQL foundations.

You’ll join London-based team, contribute to AI-powered products, and help shape Junior’s engineering culture as the team grows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience - we care about demonstrated competence, not pedigree.
• Strong in TypeScript, Next.js and PostgreSQL, not merely familiar with them.
• Ability to build a polished React/Next.js interface or solve hard TypeScript problems live without Copilot.
• Solid foundations in data structures, system design and PostgreSQL.
• High-agency and product-minded.
• Owned projects end to end, argued for what should be built and shipped without a detailed spec.
• Clear communication and interest in a client-facing role.
• Based in London, or willing to relocate to work with the team in person in Farringdon.
• You feel like you’re never building fast enough.
• Bonus: built and designed AI-powered products.

Responsibilities

• You’ll own features end to end - across the frontend, backend and data layer - and ship on a weekly cadence, not a quarterly one.
• Ship quickly, then ship again.
• Design and build entirely new ways of working with computers.
• Work on groundbreaking projects involving LLMs.
• Speak directly with the clients using what you build.
• Use those conversations to shape product decisions.
• Help define Junior’s engineering culture as the team doubles.
