Job summary

McCormick is seeking a Senior Product Development Technologist to lead Comprehensive Continuous Improvement (CCI) across SEA. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product, process and materials, driving quality and cost efficiencies while ensuring food safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a strong background in food science, design to value principles, and experience implementing technical solutions in manufacturing settings.

Qualifications

• BSc in Food Science/Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
• 8+ years experience in relevant field.
• Food Handling and Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver Comprehensive Continuous Improvement (CCI) across SEA by driving product and process improvements with cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical recommendations for CCI by evaluating solutions, risks, and enabling manufacturing implementation.
• Lead technical qualification and implementation of shortage raw materials to ensure business continuity and quality.
• Manage assigned CCI projects with defined requirements, plans, cross-functional coordination, and on-time delivery.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and support HACCP, GHP, Halal, audits, and customer technical requests.

The Senior Product Development Technologist leads Comprehensive Continuous Improvement (CCI) across SEA. The role partners closely with cross-functional teams to identify and implement product, process, raw material optimization opportunities that enhance quality, improve manufacturing efficiency, ensure business continuity, and optimize costs through CCI and Design to Value (DTV) principles.

Key Roles and Responsiblities

• Lead and deliver Comprehensive Continuous Improvement (CCI) across SEA by driving product and process in collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve quality, productivity, cost, and business objectives.
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations for CCI by evaluating technical solutions, identifying improvement opportunities, potential risks, and supporting manufacturing implementation to enhance product quality, process capability, and operational efficiency.
• Lead the technical qualification and implementation of shortage raw materials, including technical assessment, risk evaluation, validation, and manufacturing implementation, to ensure business continuity while maintaining product quality, food safety, regulatory compliance, and cost targets.
• Manage assigned CCI projects by defining technical requirements, developing implementation plans, coordinating cross-functional activities, monitoring project progress, and ensuring timely delivery in line with business priorities.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including raw material and finished product specifications, ingredient statements, nutritional information, and other R&D documentation. Provide technical support for HACCP, GHP, Halal, food quality audits, and customer technical requests in accordance with R&D procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Education and Discipline: BSc in Food Science/Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
• Minimum Experience Required: Minimum 8 years’ experience
• Certifications and/or Licenses: Food Handling and Food Safety Certification
• Other Skills & Competencies:

  Problem Solving: Interpret data, solve complex problems with incomplete information, manage risk in critical decisions.

  Collaboration: Project management, interact, seek advice, teach, influence, negotiate, and influence across the organization.

  Communication: Good written and verbal skills, excellent computer skills, ability to present technical topics and R&D capabilities.
