Description

We are looking for an ambitious, highly motivated, and passionate Product Developer to join our in-house "Own Brand" Design Centre team at Footasylum. Our team manages multiple brands across men's, women's, kids, and accessories.

This role offers a great opportunity for the right candidate to work on Footasylum's "own brands" such as Zavetti Canada, Alessandro Zavetti, and more.

Responsibilities

1. Critical Path / Timing
   • Oversee CP meetings to communicate with factories and ensure the production process stays on track.
   • Ensure the team works to a critical path to maintain a smooth development process and meet ex-factory dates.
2. Product Compliance
   • Manage testing requirements, manual guidelines, and provide feedback to the team on necessary actions.
3. Innovation
   • Identify ways to improve team and departmental workflows.
   • Implement and maintain new procedures and working documents.
4. Relationship/Communication
   • Work directly with overseas suppliers and travel for production and development trips (may include evenings and weekends).
   • Collaborate closely with the Product Development Manager to ensure smooth PD operations.
5. Mentoring
   • Support and mentor product developers, leading and motivating the team for continuous improvement.
   • Lead product development efforts, ensuring products meet safety standards and testing requirements.
   • Support developers in working with designers and buyers to develop fit-for-purpose products.
6. Product Development
   • Oversee submissions from factories, including lab dips, fabric, and print approvals.
   • Manage measurements and feedback on all own brand samples across categories.
   • Lead fit meetings to ensure high standards, scrutinizing samples alongside Brand Managers and providing construction solutions.
7. Organization
   • Manage daily workload, report issues, and oversee QC functions including sample organization and archival.
   • Maintain logs of returns and QC checks promptly.
   • Ensure efficient day-to-day organization and time management within the team.
