Job summary

Carwow is seeking a Lead/Staff Product Designer to shape core marketplace experiences. You will own complex problem spaces end to end, mentor others, and partner with product and engineering leadership to set high design standards.

You will prototype with AI, collaborate with engineers using AI-assisted workflows, and ground decisions in evidence from user research and data. Hybrid work and strong compensation are offered.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product design experience leading complex work in consumer or marketplace products.
• Native app experience and high AI fluency with Claude in design/prototyping workflows.
• Strong end-to-end craft from fuzzy problem to production-ready design.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring designers and raising team standards.
• Familiarity with experimentation-driven product development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design for major marketplace problem spaces (buying, selling, dealer-facing).
• Prototype rapidly with AI to build testable experiences for users and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineers using AI-assisted workflows and contribute code when helpful.
• Set direction, build cases with evidence, align product and engineering partners.
• Raise craft bar through critique and by modeling strong work.
• Champion AI-native ways of working and share reusable prompts/workflows.
• Ground decisions in user research, data, and rapid experimentation.
