Job summary

Bupa is seeking a Senior Product Designer (UI) to lead design systems work across digital products in a hybrid role based in the UK. You will evolve Anatomy, Bupa's design system, and mentor other designers while partnering with engineers and product teams.

As a hands-on contributor, you will design, document and improve components, patterns, and guidance, ensuring accessibility and consistency across platforms.

Qualifications

• Systems thinking to turn complex needs into simple, scalable solutions.
• Advanced Figma skills across components, variants, Auto Layout, variables and libraries.
• Experience with design-system tooling such as Zeroheight, Storybook or Figma Code Connect.
• Strong understanding of design foundations, responsive design and accessibility.
• Ability to work effectively with engineers and translate designs into code.
• Strong communication and collaboration, documenting decisions and mentoring designers.
• Familiarity with React component libraries or CMS platforms such as Sitecore.

Senior Product Designer - Design Systems
Grade - C15

Contract - Permanent

Location: Bupa Place (M50 3SP) or Angel Court (EC2R 7HJ)
Hybrid working: 2 days per week in the office
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: From £44,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience

You'll sit alongside a passionate and talented multi-disciplinary experience design team, made up of user researchers, product designers, content designers and design operations, who are focused on creating the best digital experiences for Bupa's customers in the UK.

As a senior product designer (UI) in the experience design team, you'll be responsible for the visual design, interaction and design systems across our digital products.

Role purpose:

Help teams create consistent, accessible digital experiences by evolving and scaling Anatomy, Bupa's design system. As a hands-on senior individual contributor, you'll improve components, patterns, documentation and adoption, working closely with the Lead Product Designer, engineers and product teams.

How you'll help us make health happen

• Mentor designers and contributors in systems thinking, reusable design and inclusive practice.
• Investigate requests and distinguish shared system needs from product-specific requirements.
• Build strong relationships across Design, Product and Engineering to support adoption.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
