Job description

Who we are

Hi, I’m Anca, the VP of Product at Mention Me and I’m hiring! Before I tell you more about the role, here's a little bit about Mention Me and what we do:

At Mention Me, we pride ourselves in providing end-end acquisition solutions to our customers through our leading AI-powered referral marketing solution and our AI-first micro influencer solution.

Backed by Octopus Ventures and Eight Roads, we’ve raised $32 million in funding since 2018.

Since 2013, our award-winning acquisition platform has driven over 9 million new customers, generating $3 billion in incremental revenue for our clients.

There’s a good chance you’ve already come across us while online shopping from ASOS, PUMA, Gymshark, Charlotte Tilbury, or any other of the 500+ global brands we work with.

Becoming a Mentioneer means you’ll be joining a driven team, with big plans, at a genuinely exciting time for our business.

The role

We have set an ambitious roadmap driven by a multi-product strategy and we’re now looking for an experienced senior product designer to help us take our product to the next level. Our AI-driven platform offers powerful functionality that drives excellent results, but it needs to be simple, easy to use and accessible. We’re also rolling out additional products and constantly looking for ways to embed AI as part of the wider experience.

Here is where you come in: your job will be to break down complex problems and create smart, engaging solutions, expressed in beautiful, simple, intuitive interfaces that our diverse client base will love. You will do that by working within an empowered product team, collaborating with a product manager, engineers and data scientists throughout the full product process, from discovery to delivery to iteration. You’ll have the opportunity to reimagine the user experience for large parts of the platform and participate in strategic business initiatives.

We work with clients across multiple industries, from fashion and beauty to financial services and travel. Our client users are busy marketing professionals looking to grow and retain their customer base. Some are more hands on with the Mention Me platform, while others log in sporadically to check in on performance. Your job will be to ensure a consistent experience across our multiple products and user personas.

The ideal candidate will be skilled at each stage of the design process, with a strong focus on user needs, as well as evangelising product design and best practice as part of the wider design team and across the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Champion a user-centric approach to design, conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering feedback to inform product decisions and enhance the user experience.
  • Confidently run interviews with clients to identify pain points, for usability testing or to gather feedback on specific features.
  • Run and facilitate design workshops for collaborative ideation.
  • Collaborate with the product team to translate product requirements and user needs into innovative design concepts and solutions.
  • Create user flows, scenarios, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that effectively communicate design concepts and interactions, ensuring consistency and coherence across all touchpoints.
  • Define and design intuitive user interactions and workflows that maximise usability and user engagement.
  • Actively contribute to the evolution and maintenance of the information architecture of the platform.
  • Work closely with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality implementation
  • Make sure the product is usable by people with varying abilities.
  • Contribute to the evolution and maintenance of our design system.
  • Present your solutions to internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate design rationale and decisions to stakeholders at all levels.

We'd really like to hear from you, if you have:

  • At least 5 years in a UX/UI Design and/or Product Design role delivering digital products.
  • Experience working in SaaS, Martech, or B2B industries.
  • A thorough understanding of user behaviour psychology.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, responsive design and a good grasp of technical constraints and their impact.
  • Proficiency in design and user testing tools such as Figma, UserTesting, and Maze.
  • A solid understanding of user-centred design principles, interaction design, and information architecture.
  • Proven experience using and analysing data in design process.
  • An analytical mindset and the ability to rely on both qualitative and quantitative data to make informed decisions.
  • Previous experience designing for AI-driven applications.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • You are comfortable working in a highly autonomous environment.

What to expect after you apply:

If we progress your application, you’ll be invited to arrange a 30-minute call with one of our team members.

After the initial conversation if it’s a good match both ways, you’ll be invited to meet with the hiring manager, typically over a virtual call but we also love face to face interviews where possible.

Following a successful first stage interview, you’ll be invited to the 2nd stage which will involve a task exercise as well as an open discussion to get to know you better.

  • Phone Screen with one of our team members
  • A 1st Stage with your hiring manager, Anca (VP Product)
  • A 2nd Stage task interview with Anca, Joe (Tech Lead), Connor (Senior Product Designer) and Harry (Senior Product Manager)
