Job summary

Guardian News and Media Limited in London seeks a Senior Product Data Analyst to drive insights and guide decisions within our Product & Engineering department. You will champion data-driven measurement and rigorous experimentation to deepen the team’s understanding of user behaviour.

You will build robust data models with SQL and Python, and create dashboards in Tableau/Looker while translating findings into actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders in a hybrid workplace.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in data insights, working in a digital product team.
• Experience translating data into insights that support business decisions, applying statistics to strategic problems.
• Experience in SQL and Excel/Google Sheets, Python (or R) in a data context.
• Experience with Tableau, or another data visualization tool.
• Strong presentation skills, able to communicate insights clearly and engagingly.
• Collaborative approach, contributing to a team culture that is open to ideas and sharing feedback with a diverse group of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hands-on expertise in SQL and Python (or R) to build and query robust data models for product development.
• Utilise BI tools like Tableau or Looker to monitor performance and apply statistical methods, including A/B testing.
• Translate complex findings into well-structured narratives that drive recommendations for stakeholders.
• Deliver insights by tailoring messages for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with UX research and insights teams to promote data-driven decision making in P&E.
