What you'll do
- Work within our Product Compliance team reporting to the Head of Product Compliance, with key responsibilities in articulating and delivering compliance for connectivity and entertainment products.
- Centre of excellence at least one discipline within Product Compliance: Safety; Electromagnetic Conformity; Radio Equipment; Eco-design Directive.
- Assess the regulatory requirements for new and existing electronic consumer products.
- Audit supporting product documentation, compliance reports and technical files.
- Track EU Directives, Regulations and Standards to ensure that required product changes are implemented in a timely manner.
- Ensure no hold-ups to either new product launch or existing production.
- Drive continuous improvement of Sky's product compliance process.
- Effectively communicate process & requirements and work collaboratively across Group Supply Chain, Legal & Group Products teams.
Minimum requirements- 10+ years' experience in electronic product design / engineering.
- 10+ years' experience in ensuring that UK and European products comply with applicable legislation.
- Detailed knowledge of the CE Marking and UKCA compliance process, with specific experience in consumer electronics and radio products.
- Detailed knowledge of preferably three of the following European Directives: Low Voltage Directive; Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive; Radio Equipment Directive including Cyber-Security; Eco-design Directive; Accessibility Directive.
- 2+ years' experience working with Radio technologies such as Wi-Fi; Bluetooth; Zigbee.
- Strong communications skills on strategic as well as operational level, ability to adjust from high level to operational details seamlessly depending on situation/audience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to articulate complex scenarios so that informed decisions can be taken.
- Ideally a bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or related field.
