Senior Procurement Specialist

About the Role

An established public sector organisation is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to support the delivery of a high-performing procurement function. Working closely with the Head of Procurement, this individual will oversee the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring legal compliance, driving value for money, and supporting strategic contract and supplier management.
This is a key role in a highly collaborative team, suited to someone with experience in public procurement and a passion for driving best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage procurement activities including eTenders, compliance, contract management, and policy enforcement.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Support delivery of the corporate procurement plan and ensure adherence to supplier KPIs.
  • Undertake compliance audits and maintain accurate procurement records.
  • Provide specialist advice and training to teams across the organisation.
  • Support digital transformation projects related to procurement systems.

    The Ideal Candidate


You will have:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as Procurement, Business, or Supply Chain.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a public procurement role, including working with capital budgets over €10 million.
  • A strong understanding of procurement legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to support and challenge at senior level.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant procurement systems.
  • A full driving licence or access to suitable transport.


Desirable:

  • CIPS membership or willingness to achieve this within two years.
  • Experience working across both NI and ROI procurement jurisdictions.
