The Procurement Contracts & Finance Team within the Operations Directorate has vacancies for Senior Procurement Officers. These roles are part of a new and developing team, offering an exciting opportunity to shape the team's future and develop robust strategies for the commissioning, procurement, and monitoring of works, goods, services, and related contracts, ensuring compliance with procurement legislation and aligning with the council’s strategic priorities.
Your next role
Building on your experience in similar roles, you will report to the Procurement Contracts and Finance Manager and be responsible for providing procurement leadership, decision-making, and technical advice to achieve value for money while effectively managing risks.
You should have excellent knowledge of procurement legislation, the ability to interpret policy, and experience in negotiating, influencing, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
This role will focus on procuring major projects with high value, high risk, or complex requirements, including leading on framework agreements and dynamic purchasing systems. The procurement activities include:
Knowledge of construction, housing repair/refurbishment, and familiarity with JCT and NEC contracts would be advantageous.
This is a busy operational environment requiring high personal organization, target focus, and attention to detail to complete projects within deadlines.
You must be fluent in English, as required by Part 7 of the Immigration Act, for effective customer-facing communication.
