Are you a skilled, meticulous procurement professional with a passion for delivering value through strategic sourcing?

Do you thrive in a collaborative environment, guiding teams to achieve procurement excellence?

We are looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to join our procurement team, helping Edinburgh Leisure secure optimal value while adhering to public sector standards and minimising risks.

In this pivotal role, you will support the Procurement Manager and cross-departmental project owners by providing expert advice, managing procurement processes, and maintaining critical systems to drive organisational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver procurement support to project owners, advising on processes and compliance to ensure quality and value for money.
  • Maintain the contract register and update procurement databases, including the ERP system.
  • Conduct market research to benchmark suppliers, ensuring robust procurement outcomes.
  • Oversee supplier and contract management, including sourcing new suppliers, negotiating contracts, resolving issues, and managing terms and conditions.
  • Advising and guiding staff through the procurement process, helping them to identify the most appropriate suppliers and products.
  • Provide administrative support, including credit card system administration, contract administration, and supplier communications
  • Attend contract renewal meetings and resolve low-level supply chain issues efficiently.
  • Escalate unresolved supply chain or compliance issues to the Procurement Manager promptly.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • At least three years’ procurement experience, ideally in a public sector or mixed public/private setting.
  • A procurement qualification (SVQF5/HND or CIPS Level 3) and a commitment to pursuing CIPS Level 4.
  • Strong knowledge of public sector procurement legislation and electronic purchase-to-pay systems.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, capable of identifying and resolving data discrepancies.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex procurement processes clearly to budget holders and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team-oriented mindset with a track record of collaborative success.

In return, we offer:

  • Generous holiday allowance (32 days, rising with service up to 40 days)
  • Company pension (with employee contributions matched up to 12%)
  • Paid sick leave
  • Free membership across all our centres with access to fitness classes, gyms, and swimming pools
  • Opportunities for training, career growth and development
  • Access to discounts with a huge number of retailers (saving money in cinemas, restaurants, clothing, and electronics shops, on insurance and healthcare and much more)

This is a hybrid role, with time split between working in our venues and home working. You may occasionally be required to visit specific Edinburgh Leisure venues for meetings.

Closing Date: Tuesday, 29th of July

Assessment Date: Friday, 8th of August at Meadowbank Sports Centre
