Role Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join Nidec Drives as a Senior Procurement Manager – NPD & Projects.

As part of the global Nidec Procurement team, you will be responsible for the efficient delivery of procurement projects and new product introduction (NPD) programs. This includes project managing key programs, working across the business, and delivering procurement requirements through effective project management, communication, and reporting.

You and your team will lead projects from initiation to delivery, demonstrating performance in commercial and project timelines in bi-weekly reviews with the Procurement Director.

You will play a major role in aligning and shaping the procurement function, ensuring sourcing decisions support overall strategic goals, and contributing to the vision and strategy of the senior leadership team.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Aligning strategies with Global Procurement Category Managers.
• Ensuring cross-functional requirements are integrated into project progress.
• Collaborating globally across regions and functions for performance optimization.
• Leading project management meetings and reviews.

Tactical Execution:

• Developing and managing procurement NPD and project plans.
• Leading reviews and supporting NPD plans to meet tight deadlines.
• Ensuring regional implementation aligns with targets and performance metrics.

Team Structure and People Management:

• Providing leadership and direction to the procurement NPD team.
• Advocating for procurement NPD and project approaches.
• Monitoring performance and communicating across the organization.

Relationship Management:

• Building strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Collaborating with procurement, R&D, operations, and finance teams.

Travel Requirements:

• Travel to various Nidec locations and suppliers, potentially internationally.

Qualifications & Experience:

• CIPS, Business Degree, or Project Management qualification.
• Experience in projects or procurement, preferably in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of electronics and mechanical parts (preferred).
• Project management experience in a cost-effective environment.
• Structured and proactive mindset.
