Role Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Procurement Manager – NPD & Projects to join Nidec Drives. You will be responsible for the efficient delivery of procurement projects and New Product Introduction (NPD) programs, managing key projects from initiation to delivery through effective project management and communication.

You will lead your team from project inception through to completion, demonstrating performance in terms of timelines and commercial objectives during bi-weekly reviews with the Procurement Director. You will also play a strategic role within the Procurement and Supply Chain team, ensuring sourcing decisions align with our overall strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Align and direct procurement strategies with Global Category Managers.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment and comprehensive project reporting.
• Collaborate globally to optimize performance and adhere to project plans.
• Lead project management meetings and reviews.

Tactical Execution:

• Develop and manage procurement NPD and project plans, reporting progress and deliverables.
• Lead reviews internally and with the wider business.
• Support NPD plans to meet tight deadlines.
• Ensure regional implementation of NPD plans aligning with targets.
• Maintain KPIs to monitor project execution.

Team Management:

• Provide leadership for the procurement NPD team.
• Advocate for procurement NPD and project approaches.
• Monitor and review team performance.
• Communicate effectively across all levels of the business.
• Conduct regular reviews with procurement teams and stakeholders.

Relationship Management:

• Build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborate with procurement, R&D, operations, and finance teams.
• Facilitate delivery and performance of project goals.

Travel Requirements:

• Potential travel to Nidec locations and suppliers, including international trips.

Qualifications & Experience:

• CIPS, Business Degree, or Project Management qualification.
• Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or project management, preferably in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with electronics and mechanical raw parts (preferred).
• Experience in complex, cost-effective project environments.
• Structured, proactive, and logical mindset.
