My client is a globally renowned, £multi-billion energy & engineering firm seeking a Senior Procurement Manager with experience in Directs (Gas Commodities, Engineering Equipment spend) and Indirects. The role involves devising and implementing procurement strategies aligned with the company’s strategic goals during a period of transformation.

This position manages a team of three (Procurement Manager + 2 Senior Buyers) and oversees all strategic sourcing activities. The role requires managing key supplier relationships and internal stakeholders to advance the procurement function towards industry best practices. This is an excellent opportunity to develop industry knowledge and grow within a market-leading, expanding company.

The role offers circa £80,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance + 10% Bonus, with a hybrid working model based in Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire, Manchester, Warrington, or Bolton.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans with cross-functional teams, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage procurement processes across Direct and Indirect spend, optimizing supplier relationships.
• Oversee supplier performance and contracts, ensuring value maximization.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to enhance procurement impact and address supplier issues.

Experience Required:

• CIPS or MCIPS qualification; Degree or equivalent.
• Extensive procurement experience in commodities, direct procurement, indirects, Capex, FM, PPE, or engineering-related areas.
• Background in industries such as automotive, pharma, energy, chemicals, manufacturing, civil engineering, or related fields.
• Proven ability in end-to-end procurement, operational efficiency, risk reduction, and cost savings.
• Strong stakeholder management, SRM, influencing, and communication skills.
• Experience presenting to senior leadership, analytical skills, and understanding of commercial/contract risks.
• Experience in matrix environments, managing complexity and ambiguity.
• Self-motivated, organized, and adept at complex problem-solving.
