My client is a globally renowned, multi-billion-pound energy & engineering firm seeking experienced professionals with backgrounds in Chemical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering to join their expanding procurement team. The role involves devising and implementing procurement strategies for capital projects and optimizing large-scale engineering-related spend in line with strategic goals.

This is a unique opportunity where the Senior Procurement Manager will oversee a team of three, manage strategic sourcing, key supplier relationships, and stakeholder engagement to drive the transformation of the procurement function towards excellence.

The firm offers a salary of circa £70,000 – £80,000, plus a £6,000 car allowance, a 10% bonus, and a hybrid working structure based in Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire, Manchester, Warrington, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
2. Manage end-to-end procurement processes, identify supplier initiatives, and foster strong supplier relationships to optimize spending.
3. Oversee key supplier relationships through regular reviews and audits, ensuring contract compliance and maximizing value.
4. Partner with senior stakeholders to enhance procurement impact and act as a point of escalation for supplier issues.

Experience Required:

• CIPS or MCIPS qualification; Degree or equivalent.
• Proven procurement experience within Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, especially in Capital Projects / CAPEX.
• Industry experience in Automotive, Pharma, Chemicals, Energy, Manufacturing, or Engineering sectors.
• End-to-end procurement expertise, strategic development, team management, operational efficiency improvements, risk reduction, and cost savings.
• Strong stakeholder management, SRM experience, influencing, and communication skills.
• Ability to present to senior leaders and inform decision-making.
• Analytical skills with a solid understanding of commercial and contract risk.
• Experience working in a matrix environment, handling complexity and ambiguity.
• Self-motivated, organized, and adept at complex problem-solving.
