The Procurement department provides Procurement and supply chain services to both Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. The Procurement team takes responsibility for developing strategies to meet the Procurement needs of both Trusts, and for delivering measurable savings from revenue expenditure in line with their formal Cost Improvement Plans.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Senior Procurement Assistant to join the Procurement department; a role which will be pivotal in delivering substantial savings to the Trusts.
The successful candidate will support the Head of Procurement in the procurement and contract management for goods and services, ensuring that best value for money is achieved whilst complying with all Trust financial procedures and UK procurement directives.
As per job description attached, in particular candidates should possess the necessary interpersonal skills to liaise with suppliers, stakeholders and other departments internally to advise on contractual/procurement issues and also with purchasing staff in other Trusts, NHS SupplyChain, External procurement hubs, the Crown Commercial service and all relevant bodies to identify opportunities for improving value and maintaining close working relationships
To deliver financial savings and value for money for the Trust
Carry out market research to support the clinical and corporate requirements of stakeholders
Support STH and SCH procurement strategies
Invite and manage the return of tenders including pre tender discussions with suppliers
