Job summary

Portsmouth City Council is seeking a senior procurement and contract management professional to join the central procurement department. You will report to the Procurement Manager and work within the senior management team to provide specialist advice across social care, building, transport and IT, ensuring value for money and regulatory compliance.

The role carries line management responsibilities and requires senior-level local government experience.

Qualifications

• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or significant equivalent experience.
• Extensive procurement and contract management experience in local government.
• Experience of line management and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist procurement and contract management advice and guidance to internal departments.
• Ensure value for money across council procurement.
• Ensure procurement regulations are adhered to.
