A leading water company in the UK is seeking a Senior Process Scientist to join their team. The role involves supporting Sewage Treatment Works, conducting root cause investigations, and ensuring compliance. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in sewage processes, be proactive in resolving issues, and be able to collaborate with various stakeholders. What a fantastic opportunity to join us as a senior Process Scientist. The role will entail working within a regional team of Process Scientists supporting Sewage Treatment Works in both a proactive and reactive manner. This will involve attending site, working closely with the operational teams and providing process guidance to help maintain compliance. You will cover 2-3 areas across the Midlands and our aim is for your base location to be within the areas you cover. The role will also include undertaking root cause investigations of sample failures to prevent recurrence and promoting optimisation of resources and efficient operation of Sewage Treatment Works. The role will also involve additional focus on our compliance improvement activities, working with other teams to help deliver improved compliance. As a senior process scientist, you will be one of the lead process representatives within the region you will cover. Additional Capital Scheme support is an integral part of this role and approximately 5-10% of your time will be spent on process commissioning activities. This will involve contributing to process commissioning plans and completing documentation sign off as well as providing technical advice and monitoring during the commissioning of capital projects at a range of sewage works. This will be a brilliant opportunity to expand technical expertise and share this with key stakeholders.
Having knowledge of sewage and sludge treatment process would be beneficial, as well as having a scientific background and/or a background in effective problem solving, along with influencing key stakeholders. Experience of working in a sampling / analysis environment and using various I.T systems would be advantageous. A full UK driving licence is required for the role.
