Senior Process Safety Engineer

Location: Warrington, United Kingdom

Bilfinger UK is a leading engineering and maintenance provider supporting customers across various markets including chemical, petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, power, utilities, renewables, and food & beverage. We focus on enhancing asset efficiency, ensuring high availability, and reducing maintenance costs.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead process design within multi-discipline engineering, EPCM, or EPC projects, from Concept to Execution Design.
2. Manage process safety aspects within budget and planning, ensuring design quality and compliance.
3. Participate in design reviews and ensure client acceptance.
4. Provide expert technical support in Process Engineering, making independent decisions on complex issues.
5. Oversee engineering and design estimates, controlling costs related to progress, scope changes, and man-hours.

Your Profile:

1. Experience with process design tools such as process simulation software; supervision and approval skills are essential.
2. Knowledge of process safety methodologies including HAZID, HAZOP, CHAZOP, PHA, SIL, LOPA, DSEAR, and pressure relief systems.
3. Background in mainstream process industries like oil & gas, chemicals, or energy.
4. Educational qualifications: MEng / MSc / BSc / BEng in Process or Chemical Engineering.
5. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status preferred.
6. Strong stakeholder management, planning, and organisational skills with a 'first time right' approach.
7. Understanding of British and European Standards.
8. Leadership qualities to motivate and guide teams, with experience in coaching junior engineers.
9. Desirable: Knowledge of Gas industry process safety practices.
