Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our growing UK team with locations in London, High Wycombe, Reading, Brighton, Southampton or Cambridge.

You’ll deliver process engineering solutions across water and wastewater projects and work with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical engineering solutions. Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience in process engineering within water, wastewater, utilities or related sectors.
  • Practical experience in process design, calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments and/or treatment process evaluation.
  • Good understanding of water and/or wastewater treatment processes and engineering principles.
  • Experience taking ownership of technical tasks or work packages within multidisciplinary projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work with colleagues, clients and other project stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage your own workload and contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Contribute to technical innovation, best practice and continuous improvement across our Process Engineering work.

We’re looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our growing teams in London, High Wycombe, Reading, Brighton, Southampton or Cambridge. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and specialists across a varied portfolio of UK water projects, with opportunities to build your technical expertise and take greater ownership of project delivery.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Process Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for key areas of process engineering delivery across a range of water and wastewater projects. You’ll combine your technical knowledge with practical project experience, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop effective engineering solutions.

You will:

  • Develop process engineering solutions across water and wastewater treatment projects.

  • Undertake process calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments and treatment process evaluations.

The work you deliver will help water companies improve the performance, resilience and sustainability of essential water infrastructure across the UK. From improving treatment processes and optimising existing assets to supporting the development of new infrastructure, your technical contribution will help address some of the sector’s most important challenges.

ABOUT YOU Essential
  • Degree qualified in Chemical or Process Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Experience in process engineering within the water, wastewater, utilities or related sectors.

  • Practical experience in process design, calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments and/or treatment process evaluation.

  • Good understanding of water and/or wastewater treatment processes and engineering principles.

  • Experience taking ownership of technical tasks or work packages within multidisciplinary projects.

Desirable
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) or actively working towards

  • Membership of a relevant professional institution such as CIWEM, IChemE, ICE or IMechE.

  • Experience working with UK water companies and AMP investment programmes.

  • Experience across clean water or wastewater treatment, asset optimisation, process performance or infrastructure design.

  • Experience supporting site investigations, commissioning, testing or process optimisation activities.

  • Experience using digital tools and innovative approaches to improve process engineering delivery.

  • Experience supporting bids, frameworks, client relations or business development activities.

  • Experience mentoring or supporting the development of less experienced engineers.
