Senior Process Engineer - Silver Sintering

Location: Bedlington

Salary: Dependent on Experience

Our client, a leader in their field, is recruiting for a Senior Process Engineer to join their growing team.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  1. Proactively identify opportunities to improve yield or manufacturing efficiency and lead continuous improvement activities.
  2. Initiate and lead long-term team projects.
  3. Plan and execute procurement, installation, and qualification of manufacturing equipment.
  4. Update and produce technical documentation such as operating instructions, inspection standards, and PFMEAs.
  5. Provide training and support to junior engineers.
  6. Support production daily operations, troubleshoot manufacturing equipment issues promptly.
  7. Gain and maintain detailed knowledge of the production process and equipment.
  8. Liaise with customers.
  9. Support existing product lines and processes throughout their lifecycle.
  10. Contribute to the execution of the business strategic plan and stay updated on new technologies and opportunities.
  11. Ensure safe working practices and adherence to health and safety legislation when implementing new products, materials, processes, or equipment.
  12. Occasional visits to customers or suppliers and potential foreign travel.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Understanding and experience with Silver Sintering.
  • Experience with die bonding and wire bonding in microelectronic or hybrid manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience as a Technical Engineer.
  • Familiarity with electronics & mechanical CAD design (desirable).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and statistical process techniques (desirable).
  • Familiarity with Mil standard and high-reliability design environments (desirable).
  • Degree/HNC in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
Working Hours and Benefits:
  • Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30
  • Friday: 08:00 – 13:00
