Senior Process Engineer

Thames Water | Major Projects | Hybrid/London/South East

Thames Water is on a mission to transform and modernise our wastewater infrastructure — and we're looking for a Senior Technical Assurance Engineer with a strong Process Engineering background to lead the way on some of our most ambitious Major Projects.

What you’ll be doing

1. Collaborate with diverse internal stakeholders, including engineers, asset management, and operations to shape fit-for-purpose solutions.
2. Collaborate with and assure consultants and contractors on large, complex capital projects.
3. Support preliminary, outline and detailed design with our delivery partners.
4. Ensure compliance with legislation and regulations, as well as our policies, standards, and expectations.
5. Support Thames Water’s ‘triple zero’ Health, Safety, and well-being vision by conducting audits and reviewing Risk Assessments.
6. Identify and manage delivery risks and opportunities.
7. Contribute to the creation of Project Briefs and respond to RFIS.
8. Train and mentor team members in treatment processes and compliance requirements.

This role will be based on a Hybrid Basis at Clearwater Court in Reading. You are required to be on-site and in the office three days a week, as the business necessitates.
36 hours a week, Monday to Friday

What you should bring to the role

1. Bachelor's, preferably Master's, degree or other appropriate technical qualification in Chemical Engineering or related field.
2. Recognised by a relevant professional institution as a chartered member or actively working towards chartered membership.
3. Several years of relevant experience in the water industry, with experience in designing water treatment and/or wastewater treatment plants.
4. Understanding of the water industry environment to achieve compliance with engineering regulatory requirements.
5. Awareness of applying Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015).
6. Possess technical knowledge and expertise within your discipline and the ability to collaborate with various engineering disciplines.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects and tasks.
