Job description

Who are we?

Within the Anglian Water @one Alliance, we are a collaborative organization comprising eight partner companies (Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO) and our extended supply chain. We work together to deliver over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment program.

We are driving change, setting global benchmarks, and building a better environment, while offering growth and development opportunities for our workforce. We aim to build on our existing teams with an environment conducive to career progression.

We are seeking aspiring, driven talent to help us achieve our ambitious targets. Are you ready to join us as we deliver our most creative and innovative AMP yet?

What will you be doing as our new Senior Process Engineer?

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will provide technical direction to discipline engineers working on water treatment and supply projects. Your role involves designing support for water treatment and supply schemes, ensuring all designs comply with current legislation and standards.

You will collaborate with key stakeholders and assist multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure project solutions are cost-effective, fit for purpose, completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

You will review process design deliverables produced by other process engineers within the @one Alliance, ensuring adherence to processes and procedures, and will coach and mentor junior engineers.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with principal engineers and project managers to review upcoming projects and design review schedules.
  2. Mentor and coach less experienced team members.
  3. Promote sustainable and low-carbon design practices.
  4. Ensure compliance with process standards, regulations, and Anglian Water standards.
  5. Review piping and instrumentation diagrams and 3D models for quality and safety standards.
  6. Verify mass balances, process sizing, and hydraulic calculations.
  7. Review process documentation, including basis of design, process flow diagrams, and control strategies.
  8. Develop design alerts and lessons learned.
  9. Support the procurement process through technical knowledge of @One frameworks.
  10. Conduct site visits as appropriate.
  11. Present lessons learned and technical updates to the team and wider alliance.
  12. Embrace digital technologies to develop fully attributed 3D models.
  13. Support initiatives to reduce carbon footprint and enhance natural capital in designs.
  14. Maintain technical awareness and disseminate knowledge among process engineers.

Candidate profile:

Applicants should hold a degree in Engineering or equivalent, or demonstrate equivalent knowledge through experience. Chartered status or active pursuit of chartered status is preferred, along with experience in water-sector assets and capital projects or design-build environments.

Proven mentoring and coaching experience is essential. This role suits enthusiastic, driven engineers eager to contribute to a leading industry alliance.
