Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead process design and improvement in Hampshire. The role involves driving continuous improvement initiatives and managing project schedules for new product introductions. The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering, at least 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, and relevant skills in lean methodologies. A competitive salary of £45,000 - £50,000 per annum is offered, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience with Value Stream Mapping (VSM) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Overview

JOB-Senior ProcessEngineer(Manufacturing) LOCATION- Hampshire TERM- Permanent SALARY- £45,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Responsibilities
  • Drive continuous improvement and lead the process design development and introduction of assemblies including tooling, fixtures and test equipment.
  • Co-ordinate continuous improvement projects across cross functional teams.
  • Analyse current processes for cost reduction and improvement activities.
  • Communicate between procurement, suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Assist in ensuring that standard operating procedures, work instructions, test instructions and control plans are clearly defined, documented and communicated by the best available methods.
  • Support the transfer of new processes or new products (NPI) from Development to Manufacture.
  • Assist in the Training of operators on new products, processes and equipment.
  • New product development & implementing new machines and processes.
  • Design of jigs and fixtures to improve existing processes.
  • Manage project schedules for New Product Introductions.
  • Assisting with planning from time to time when required.
  • Creating routings, listing all internal and external operations.
Qualifications
  • Degree qualified in an appropriate engineering or science discipline, or demonstrably equivalent through work-based experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering role.
  • Experience with VSM and other Lean techniques is an advantage.
  • Hit the ground running, leading change and developing new ways of working through collaboration.
  • Has a challenger mind mentality.
  • Thorough attention to detail.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green belt beneficial.
  • Be able to work well alone as well as part of a team.
