Job summary

Lumentum Caswell site in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Process Development Engineer (Backend) to drive backend wafer processing, including thinning, CMP, dicing and related activities. You will lead process qualification, data-driven improvements, and collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline (semiconductor/tech).
• Experience with SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing and MES is desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; able to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and continuously improve backend wafer processing operations.
• Develop and qualify new semiconductor manufacturing processes; support NPI and yield goals.
• Analyze process and equipment data to drive improvements (SPC, Six Sigma); prepare technical docs and training material.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Manufacturing and R&D on tech transfer.
