Job description

Are you looking for an exciting new challenge? Do you have extensive wastewater experience in a process commissioning or a science-based role? If so, we have a great opportunity for you in our Commissioning team as a Senior Process Commissioning Engineer.

What you'll do

The Commissioning team manages and undertakes the commissioning of capital projects on clean and wastewater sites throughout the Wessex region.

A Senior Process Commissioning Engineer provides input throughout design and construction of a project, before leading the project through successful commissioning.

During AMP 8, the bulk of the wastewater projects involve Phosphorus Removal; the majority of which also include additional scope, such as tertiary solids removal, capital maintenance, and the construction of new process stages. In addition, there are a number of larger non-P-removal schemes to deliver.

As well as working on these projects, you will be working with the Asset Commissioning Manager in areas such as staff development and team strategy.

As Senior Process Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Providing input throughout the design and construction of a project
• Providing technical input to project design
• Assisting Commissioning Engineers with technical queries
• Attending design review meetings and HAZOPs
• Providing Process Risk Assessments for construction activities
• Undertaking software FATs and SATs
• Bringing new process units online
• Process optimisation
• Process and mechanical reliability testing
• Driving the project through successful commissioning

What you'll need

As an expert in your field, you'll have at least 10 years' experience on a wide range of wastewater process projects, including a minimum of five years within a European or the UK water industry.

In addition, you will need:

• To be qualified to degree level as a minimum within a relevant scientific or engineering field
• Chartership (highly beneficial)
• Used to using your own initiative and being self-sufficient
• Good facilitation skills
• To be detail-oriented
• To be an active listener
• Good interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
