Job summary

Octave Recruitment Ltd is recruiting an experienced Private Sector Housing Team Leader for Central Bedfordshire. The role involves regulating and improving housing conditions using statutory powers and leading a team of Environmental Health Officers and Technical Officers.

You will oversee Private Sector Housing functions, tackle complex enforcement casework and guide officers on HMO matters, with involvement in prosecutions and notices where required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Private Sector Housing, Environmental Health or Housing Enforcement.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Experience with housing enforcement powers and complex case management.

Responsibilities

• Line manage a team of Environmental Health Officers and Technical Officers.
• Oversee Private Sector Housing functions and enforcement casework.
• Provide specialist advice on complex cases and HMO matters.
• Review prosecution files, tribunal cases and financial penalty notices.
• Assist with statutory notices and evidence files; regulate and improve housing conditions.
• Support Housing Assistance Programme delivery and engage with landlords and customers.
