Senior Private Housing Officer x 2 (1 x Perm, 1 x 18.50 hrs)
About us
The Housing Standards & Assistance team has 2 main functions, one is to enforce housing standards in all tenures and the other is to provide grants and loans to vulnerable people, mainly through Disabled Facilities Grants. This post is principally a housing enforcement role, working with 3 other Environmental Health Officers and reporting to the Team Manager Housing Standards.
The role
The role will involve investigating service requests from private and social housing tenants as well as reports of poor housing conditions involving owner occupiers. Assessments will be carried out using the HHSRS and you will be involved in serving notices and civil penalties and taking prosecution action where appropriate. The role also involves licensing and inspection of HMOs.
What's needed?
You will need to be a qualified Environmental Health Officer preferably with previous housing enforcement experience.
