Job summary

Lovell Chohan Solicitors Limited is seeking an experienced Family Solicitor (8+ years’ PQE) to join the national Family Department. You will manage a high-quality privately funded caseload, covering divorce, financial remedy and related settlements, with a focus on discretion and client care.

Working in a flexible hybrid model across Cartwright King Offices, you will also contribute to business development, mentoring junior lawyers and building strong referral networks to support department

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 8+ years' PQE in Family Law.
• Proven ability to manage a private family law caseload and high-value financial matters.
• Experience supervising junior lawyers and supporting staff; strong advocacy and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of privately funded family law matters from inception to conclusion.
• Advise clients on divorce, property and financial settlements, pension sharing, and nuptial agreements.
• Negotiate settlements and represent clients in court proceedings when needed.
• Develop and maintain referral relationships and contribute to business development.
• Mentor junior team members and ensure regulatory compliance.

Experience / Qualification: Minimum 8 years’ PQE

Department: Family

Salary: Dependant on experience and PQE

Location: Flexible across Cartwright King Offices (Hybrid – Office & Home)

Holiday: 26 days + Bank Holidays (plus your birthday off after one year of service)

Reporting To: Regional Director/Head of Family

Hours: 35 hours per week

Overall Purpose of the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled family solicitor with significant experience in advising privately paying clients on all aspects of relationship breakdown, divorce and financial matters. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of high-quality private family work while contributing to the continued growth and success of the department through business development and networking activities.

Principal Accountabilities

Managing a caseload of privately funded family law matters from inception to conclusion.Advising clients on:

• Divorce and dissolution of civil partnerships.
• Property and asset division.
• Pension sharing arrangements.
• Separation agreements.
• Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements.

Conducting negotiations and representing clients throughout court proceedings where necessary.

Building and maintaining strong client relationships, delivering exceptional client care and service.

Developing referral relationships with professional contacts, including financial advisers, accountants and other introducers.

Contributing to marketing and business development initiatives.

Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team where appropriate.

Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and firm procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
• Minimum8 years’ PQEin Family Law.
• Extensive experience managing a private family law caseload.
• Strong expertise in divorce and financial remedy matters.
• Excellent technical knowledge of family law and current developments.
• Proven ability to manage complex and high-value financial cases.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation and client relationship skills.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
• Membership of Resolution.
• Family Law Accreditation or equivalent specialist recognition.
• Established professional network and referrer relationships.
• Experience supervising junior lawyers and support staff.
