Clayton Legal is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join a leading Private Wealth team across Reading and London. You will manage high-net-worth client matters with discretion, delivering sophisticated tax, trusts and estate-planning strategies.

The role offers senior-level responsibility, real scope to shape client relationships, supervise junior lawyers and contribute to business development within a supportive, ambitious environment. Hybrid working applies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' PQE in Private Client law.
• Strong grounding in tax, trusts and estate planning.
• Experience advising HNW and international clients.
• Confident handling complex, multi-layered matters independently.
• STEP/CTA (desirable).
• Strong drafting, client care and communication skills.
• Commercial, proactive and collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

Job description

A top 200 and leading Private Wealth team is looking for an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join its growing practice across London and Reading.

This is a senior role offering high-quality, technically complex work alongside a supportive and ambitious team, with real scope to shape client relationships and contribute to business growth.

The Role

You'll advise High-Net-Worth individuals, business owners and international clients on sophisticated estate and tax planning matters, including trusts, succession planning and cross-border structures.

Core work includes:

• Complex wills, trusts and estate planning
• Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax advice
• Cross-border and multi-jurisdictional estates
• Business succession and family wealth structuring
• Trust creation, administration and restructuring
• Advising on Business Property Relief and business asset planning
• Probate and high-value estate administration

You'll also supervise junior lawyers and play an active role in client development and team growth.

About You

• 5+ years' PQE in Private Client law
• Strong technical grounding in tax, trusts and estate planning
• Experience advising HNW and international clients
• Confident handling complex, multi-layered matters independently
• STEP/CTA (desirable)
