Job description

Absolute Law Recruitment are seeking a Private Client Solicitor 5yrs+ PQE to join an exceptional Legal 500 Law Firm in London.


You will provide high quality legal advice on the full range of private client matters whilst acting as a trusted advisor to clients. The role requires the delivery of technically excellent advice with the ability to guide clients on long-term strategic planning, alongside changing economic and political environments. Upholding the highest level of client service at all times is essential.


A detailed understanding of the legal intricacies of the following areas is required:

  1. Tax and trust Work
  2. Business succession planning
  3. Capital Gains Tax ('CGT') advice
  4. Estate and succession planning
  5. Farm/agricultural property succession planning
  6. Inheritance Tax ('IHT') planning
  7. All aspects of preparing Wills
  8. Post-death variations
  9. Trust creation and trust administration
  10. Trust tax and estate administration and tax compliance.
  11. Life Interest Trusts, Discretionary Trusts and Declarations of Trust
  12. Tax treatment of different trusts
  13. Day-to-day administration of trusts including drafting Deeds of Appointment, Deeds of Retirement, completion of trust tax returns, drafting trust accounts and the variation of trusts

Person specification:

  1. Ambitious and focused on developing a successful career to partner level
  2. Able to manage, motivate and mentor junior team members
  3. Desire to develop existing expertise, experience and skills with training, direction and appropriate supervision
  4. Effective time management and organisational skills and the initiative to work independently but also as part of a team
  5. Able to communicate and engage at all levels both internally and externally with clients and professional advisors
  6. Able to negotiate with and influence others
  7. Flexible, adaptable and positive attitude to work
  8. Able to identify priorities within a complex and demanding workload and sustain consistent quality performance when under pressure
