Job Description:

Join HSBC as a Senior Private Asset Specialist in Edinburgh and help manage the technical accounting oversight for UK private asset portfolios, including funds such as ACS, PAIF, segregated mandates, insurance funds, and SPVs.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Providing expertise on accounting requirements across asset classes and fund jurisdictions.
  2. Ensuring interpretation and implementation of requirements are robust.
  3. Building relationships with clients, audit firms, and external technology providers.
  4. Assessing operational risks and staying updated on market issues, pricing, and accounting/tax requirements.
  5. Keeping abreast of technical developments and adjusting practices accordingly.

Minimum requirements:

  1. Qualified Accountant or equivalent professional experience.
  2. Experience working directly with external clients and third parties.
  3. Mandatory experience in Private Assets, especially infrastructure, equity, or real estate.
  4. Preferred experience with Yardi software.
  5. Knowledge of Investment Accounting and Fund Administration is advantageous.
  6. Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships.
  7. Effective planning and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
  8. Business acumen and awareness of risks in Fund Administration.
