We are working exclusively with a globally recognised tech organisation seeking an experienced privacy lawyer to join their legal team. This is a hands-on, strategic role where you’ll tackle cutting-edge privacy issues in a fast-paced, consumer-facing environment. The role offers flexible working arrangements, and due to the international nature of the team, candidates can work remotely for the most part, with occasional periodic visits required.
The Opportunity
You’ll support regulatory and user privacy issues across the EMEA region, helping to manage user trust and engagement with a fast-moving tech product used by millions worldwide. Working alongside legal and cross-functional teams across Europe, you’ll contribute to privacy-led decision making, advise on regulatory matters and user escalations, and help shape long-term engagement strategies with key regulators across the EU and UK. This is a high-impact role offering exposure to complex privacy challenges and the chance to influence the platform’s EMEA privacy posture.
Key Responsibilities
· Advising on a wide range of privacy and data protection issues, particularly relating to the GDPR and its interaction with other global privacy regimes.
· Leading and supporting regulatory engagements with EMEA regulators (e.g. DPC, ICO, CNIL, Garante).
· Handling user escalations and complaints that raise legal or regulatory concerns.
· Supporting the development of proactive and reactive regulatory strategies, including stakeholder prep for high level meetings.
· Collaborating closely with internal legal, policy, and product teams to embed privacy into business processes and remediation planning.
· Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments and advising the business on potential risks and strategic implications.
About You
· Qualified lawyer (UK or EU), trained at a reputable city firm or with strong inhouse legal experience.
· Strong working knowledge of data protection and privacy laws (particularly the GDPR).
· Deep regulatory experience in privacy is a plus but not essential.
· Confident handling cross-border issues and balancing legal advice with business priorities
· Clear communicator, adaptable, and pragmatic in your legal approach
· The client is open to candidates based in the UK, Ireland, France, or Germany, ideally with prior relevant experience.
What’s on Offer
· Competitive six figure salary plus bonus and share options
· Full remote flexibility, with occasional in-person meetings if required
· Excellent Benefits Including working for a world renowned brand
