Job summary

Harrison Scott Associates is seeking an experienced Print Estimator for a leading commercial print and production environment in the UK. The role focuses on preparing accurate, competitive estimates from customer specifications, and working closely with sales, production and purchasing teams to cost accurately.

The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of print manufacturing processes (lithographic, digital and finishing) and excellent numerical skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Print Estimator, Senior Estimator or Estimating Manager.
• Strong knowledge of commercial print manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of lithographic, digital and finishing operations.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good commercial awareness and cost-management capability.
• Ability to interpret customer specifications and technical requirements.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive and organised approach to workload and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quotations and estimates from customer specifications.
• Assess job requirements and determine the most cost-effective production methods.
• Calculate material, labour, finishing and subcontract costs.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing for outsourced services and materials.
• Work closely with sales and account management teams to support new business opportunities.
• Review production methods and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Ensure all estimates are completed within agreed timescales.
• Maintain estimating records and pricing information.
• Provide technical advice and support to internal departments where required.
• Assist with tender submissions and large project quotations.
