About the Opportunity
We are currently supporting a well-established advisory firm specialising in technical and strategic services for the global energy industry. They are seeking a skilled Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team on a contract basis, working on exciting projects across traditional and emerging energy sectors. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional with experience in C&I packages, who is confident working within the oil and gas environment and ready to take on diverse front-end engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver C&I engineering across all project stages, with a focus on FEED and EPC scopes
2. Prepare and validate technical documents, including design philosophies, specifications, procedures, standards, and data sheets
3. Provide control and instrumentation expertise for multi-discipline studies and technical reports
4. Conduct engineering assessments and investigative studies in line with client objectives
5. Support and participate in safety reviews such as HAZOP and LOPA
6. Ensure designs comply with project specifications and applicable safety and quality standards
7. Collaborate closely with process, safety, and other engineering teams to develop robust control and safeguarding systems

Required Experience & Skills

1. Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (Control, Instrumentation, Electrical or similar)
2. Proven experience working on Control & Instrumentation packages within the oil and gas sector
3. Broad understanding of instrumentation, control systems, and telecoms across large-scale energy projects
4. Strong working knowledge of international codes and standards related to C&I design
5. Experience in front-end design studies highly desirable
6. Familiarity with safety integrity levels (SIL), functional safety, and associated risk assessments beneficial
