Senior / Principal Transport Planner

Are you an experienced Transport Planner ready to take the next step in your career?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, people-focused consultancy working across a diverse portfolio of development-led transport planning projects in the UK.
The role offers a blend of technical responsibility, client engagement, project leadership, and real input into business growth - all within a supportive, flexible, and progressive environment.



The Role


You'll be delivering and leading a range of transport planning services, including:


  • Preparation of Transport Statements, Assessments, Travel Plans, and Site Access Appraisals.

  • Travel Plan Coordinator duties.

  • Junction capacity modelling (ARCADY, PICADY).

  • Signal design and traffic modelling using LinSig.

  • Preliminary junction/access design in AutoCAD.

  • Swept Path Analysis using AutoTrack.

  • Preparing high-quality plans and graphics using GIS or CorelDRAW.

  • Supporting project management, client communications, and fee proposals.

  • Contributing to bids and wider business development activities.


What We're Looking For


We're looking for someone with strong technical skills and a commercial mindset who enjoys working collaboratively while taking ownership of their work.
Requirements:


  • Background in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, or Geography.

  • Experience in development-focused transport planning.

  • Skilled in relevant modelling and design software (ARCADY, PICADY, LinSig, AutoCAD, AutoTrack).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Membership of (or working towards) a professional body such as CIHT or ICE.
