Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline (Chartered RTPI preferred)
• Experience in Development Management or planning environment (public/private)
• Strong knowledge of UK planning policy and legislation
• Proven ability to manage major/complex planning applications
• Excellent written reports and recommendations for decisions
• Confident communicator with applicants, stakeholders and teams

Responsibilities

• Lead on pre‑application discussions and assessment of major/complex planning applications
• Provide high‑quality planning advice to clients and consultees
• Prepare robust reports and recommendations for delegated/committee decisions
• Negotiate with applicants and stakeholders to secure compliant development
• Support planning appeals and complex casework
• Maintain up‑to‑date planning policy knowledge and guidance
